Job Description and Required Skills
A debt settlement negotiator works with creditors to settle the terms of a debt. The negotiator is tasked with finding an agreement between the creditor and the debtor that is acceptable to both parties. They must also ensure that the agreed-upon terms of the settlement are within the parameters set by the client’s payment plan. A successful Negotiator must be able to negotiate with both sides, staying level-headed and composed in heated negotiations.
Negotiator Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients to ensure successful negotiation
- Establish clear objectives and strategies for each
- Reviewing and analyzing clients’ documents and taking care of their advice regarding our offers and counteroffers to private financiers
- Analyze clients’ financial situations and advise on the best debt relief
- Negotiate with creditors to reach mutually satisfactory
